What is the Michigan Childhood Immunization Registry (MCIR)?
The MCIR is a state-of -the-art immunization registry that stores a comprehensive immunization record for any child immunized in the state of Michigan. Think of the MCIR as a computerized shot record.
Public Act 540
Under Public Act 540 of 1996 and the Administrative Rules [R325.163] which govern the immunizations given to children, a physician who administers immunizations to a child is required to report this information to the Michigan Childhood Immunization Registry (MCIR).
