Welcome to
MCIR Region 2

Through the careful tracking of immunizations provided
by health care providers, the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) strives to reduce the occurrence of vaccine preventable illnesses.
Region 2 strives to meet the needs
of all of our regional users by providing onsite training,
user groups and a regional help desk.

What is the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR)?
The MCIR is a repository for immunization information for all Michiganders of all ages. The registry expanded in 2006 to include a link to lead level results for children. Look for results for newborn screening and vision and hearing in the near future, as the MCIR continues to expand to meet the needs of Michigan's provider community.

Public Act 91
In accordance with Public Act 91 of the Public Acts of 2006, the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has established the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR).

Public Act 540
Under Public Act 540 of 1996 and the Administrative Rules [R325.163] which govern the immunizations given to children, a physician who administers immunizations to a child born after 1994 is required to report this information to the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), formerly the Michigan Childhood Immunization Registry. Immunizations for persons of any age may now be entered into the registry.
