Adolescent Website Information
The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has created a new website devoted to the immunization information needs of pre-teens and teens. Separate web pages are designed for pre-teens, teens and their parents, as well as health care personnel, schools and vaccine safety.
Be sure to check out the poster gallery, which includes posters targeted to pre-teens, teens and their parents: http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,1607,7-132-2945_5104_5281_47680-226902--,00.html.
MDCH is urging local health departments and other organizations to add a link from their websites to this new website. Visit the new website today at www.michigan.gov/teenvaccines.

Camping Recommendations & MHSAA Physical Examination Clearance Form
The American Academy of Pediatrics has created recommendations for health appraisal and preparation of young people before participation in day or resident camps and to guide health and safety practices for children at camp. These recommendations are intended for parents, primary health care providers, and camp administration and health center staff. Immunization recommendations can be found on page 3 of the attached policy statement.
Below is a flyer outlining these new guidelines, which will be posted to the MDCH Adolescent Immunization Website at www.michigan.gov/teenvaccines and the MDCH Immunization Website at www.michigan.gov/immunize.
Further, below you will find the updated MHSAA sports physical form which now includes immunizations (see page 3, questions 51-52; bottom of page 4). This form has been approved by MHSAA and will be posted to their website soon.
Please feel free to share these materials with summer camp programs, schools, health care providers, and parents in your jurisdiction.
